Jerry has been a proud member of the Campbell River Daybreak Rotary Club since 1988. The Daybreak Rotary Club has constantly been involved with many community projects, such as the building of the Maritime Heritage Building near the Campbell River Fishing Pier. The Daybreak Rotary Club are known for one of their main fundraisers which is the Annual Duck Race, held in Mid September on the Campbell River. Tickets go on sale right after the BC Day Long Weekend in August, outfront of several downtown businesses. The Campbell River Daybreak Rotary Club has supported students through the World Student Exchange Program, Recognized the local Students of the Month, support the Timberline Interact Club, along with providing many Student Bursaries. One of their most recent projects is providing container loads of wheelchairs for countries such as Peru and Venezuela in which members volunteer their time by travelling to hand deliver them.
